Ancho chillies are poblano peppers that have been roasted and dried. They have a sweet and smoky flavour which adds richness to cooking. They have a mild heat and are reminiscent to raisins in flavour. Â These flakes are perfect for sprinkling over an array of dishes including salads, soups, tacos and much more. Â Scoville Scale - 1000 units - Mild to medium heat. Hydrate them for 5 minutes in hot water, remove seeds and vein, stuff with fresh cheese, soak them in whipped egg whites and fry them in very hot oil for 5 minutes. Serve with a tomato sauce. This is a delicious alternative to the poblano stuffed chillies.
Ancho-pepers zijn poblano-pepers die zijn geroosterd en gedroogd. Ze hebben een zoete en rokerige smaak die het koken extra rijk maakt. Ze hebben een milde hitte en doen qua smaak denken aan rozijnen. Deze vlokken zijn perfect om over allerlei gerechten te strooien, waaronder salades, soepen, taco's en nog veel meer. Scoville-schaal - 1000 eenheden - Milde tot middelmatige hitte. Hydrateer ze gedurende 5 minuten in heet water, verwijder de zaden en de nerf, vul ze met verse kaas, week ze in opgeklopt eiwit en bak ze gedurende 5 minuten in zeer hete olie. Serveer met een tomatensaus. Dit is een heerlijk alternatief voor de met poblano gevulde pepers.
Storage / Bewaaradvies:Â
Place the remaining chillies in an air tight container and keep in a cool, dry place.
Doe de resterende pepers in een luchtdichte verpakking en bewaar ze op een koele, droge plaats.
